Summary
I am an Electrical Engineer with over 15 years of experience in network planning in the
technology & telecommunications industry. I am highly experienced in designing and managing
complex, largescale high capacity networks and infrastructure buildout, primarily with AT&T
and Google. Currently my experience includes designing and planning fiber optic transport
technologies for Google Fiber in Mountain View, CA. My latest accomplishments have been in
the development of a Policy Innovation white paper on implementing “dig once” practices for
broadband network deployment. I have strong computer proficiencies in programming,
databases, and process automation.
Experience
Apex Systems, at Google (Mountain View, CA)
Network Designer, 2015 present
Work with other highly capable network architects in the identification of new innovations,
services, products and implementations for the Google Fiber network
Leverage deep understanding of FTTH outside plant, deployment techniques, vendors and
industry trends
Engage other Google Fiber teams including Product Management, Software Engineering and
Business Development and provide support when necessary
Identify areas of innovation and optimization of OSP and ISP solutions by creating cost models
and comparing designs against our current architecture
Support engagement with vendors and suppliers on architectural direction and development
and interact with Supply Chain to ensure accurate forecasts of materials with a focus in long
term planning and cost reduction strategies
Work closely with other network architects on the delivery of innovative and progressive
network architecture documents that will be used to construct the OSP network
Provide implementation support to field teams to ensure correct installation and proper
network operation
AT&T (San Ramon, CA)
Senior Network Planning Engineer, 2007 2015
Designed, analyzed, planned and modified network components and architecture in support of
the wireless and wireline infrastructure, developed scorecards and dashboards
Provided mid to longterm planning for a specific technology which included analysis, solution
recommendations, and implementation strategies to complex business issues.
(These activities were the basis for capital deployment and allocation decisions)
Prepared the analysis of the shortterm or longterm capacity needs for wireless and wireline
infrastructure, conducted network architecture design, feasibility and cost studies
Studied and forecasted traffic drivers to determine short and/or long term capacity needs,
provided support for traffic analyses and tool automation
Recommended strategic network architecture planning and network evolution policy decisions
in support of corporate initiatives, customer demand, technology changes, economic and
service reliability criteria
Bechtel (San Francisco, CA)
Electrical Engineer, 20032007
Designed cell site facilities in San Francisco and Marin counties, worked with crossfunctional
teams to ensure AT&T coverage objectives were met
Worked with Bechtel Construction teams, architects, power engineers and AT&T RF Engineers
to achieve the best design possible on new sites that were being built
Reviewed, modified and redlined drawings based on feedback from various groups,
communicated changes back to the architects for construction drawing revisions
Tested new UMTS/GSM devices on the Cingular 3G network, reported bugs, worked with
AT&T Product Development teams to allow devices to be released with no issues
Performed drivetesting, mobile performance measurements, documentation, data throughput
testing, verification of all software/hardware functionally using test scripts.

Projects
Fiber Optic Ethernet Network Map, AT&T • Created a visual map in a ESRI ArcGIS virtual
machine to display AT&T’s optical network on an interactive map, allowing for logical and
geographical connections to be overlaid and viewed together (ESRI, QGIS, FME)
Conference Organization App, Udacity • Developed a cloudbased API server to support a
provided conference organization application that exists on the web as well as a native Android
application. The API supports user authentication, user profiles, conference information and
various manners in which to query the data (Google App Engine, Cloud Computing, APIs,
Python)
Resume & Cover Letter Generator • Currently developing an app that will allow the user to
create a resume and cover letter in Markdown, and generate both a PDF and HTML file to be
used for job applications or website hosting (Markdown, Pandoc, HTML, Node.js)
